
2009 mobile internet user age group

iResearch, one of the leading Chinese internet research companies, has published their study of the mobile internet users of China for 2009.
The statistics from the research has shown that:
Mobile internet population in China is shifting to a more mature, highly educationed and high income demographic.
The age group of 18 to 24 is still the majority, taking up 50.7% of the entire mobile internet population; while the age group over 25 has grown up to 43.8%, a leap of 17.3% from 2008.
Also the article from ITBYE has pointed out from this research, the majority of mobile internet population has shifted from students to professionals: students have falled to 19.5%, but in 2008 over 40% of the users are students; while the white collar professionals have risen to 38.9% from 2008’s 29.2%.
